Thanks to funds obtained from the Foundation for Stefan Batory under the "Democracy in Action" programme, the Court Watch Poland Foundation was given the opportunity to continue in the Citizens' Monitoring of the Courts in the 2012-2013 cycle. As part of the project "Civic monitoring of the functioning of district and district courts, improvement of tools supporting the functioning of the court watch movement in Poland and actions for the disclosure of hearings", the Foundation will increase the territorial scope of activities to cover as many district and district courts as possible in all regions of the country. As part of the project activities, we encourage and acquire new observers who, as part of volunteering, both carry out further observations of court hearings and infrastructure and are gradually involved in the analytical and advocacy activities of the Foundation. An e-learning course is also being prepared for potential new observers who do not have the opportunity to reach on-site training. This will remove possible barriers to citizens' involvement in the care of public life in our country. There will also be an advocacy campaign to uphold the principle of publicity in the courts, thereby increasing the transparency of the institution, which should increase citizens' trust in the courts.<\/p>\n

The funds raised under this program also allow the further development of our extremely important project, which is the WokandaObywatelska.pl service. It allows you to easily and automate the reporting of all court hearings, which are then posted on the site. All observers from the village where the hearing is to be held are therefore invited to observe them on an ongoing basis. In this way, any citizen who, for whatever reason, fears the bias of the court or other negative consequences of appearing there, can minimise these fears through our observers.<\/p>\n

The project is scheduled to be implemented by the end of December 2014.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
